The article attempts to study protest media activism in modern Russia, taking into account the manifestation of its new forms, such as online rallies, as well as an analysis of the prospects for its further application in the protest practice of modern Russia. The conclusion is made about the ambiguity of the use of new media technologies to consolidate the protest potential of the Russian society, which is associated with the presence of trends in the growth of the Internet users and the increase in state control over the sphere of public communications on the Internet.

The article reveals the problems of legislation in the sphere of functioning of national and cultural autonomies that affect politics both on regional and federal levels. The author notes the need to reform the legal framework for the functioning of national and cultural autonomies in the context of the national security Strategy of Russia.

Scientific Community and Authority: Experience of Interaction in the Region (On the Example of the Kemerovo Region)

The article presents the results of a study on the role of the scientific community in the regional socio-economic and political process in the Kemerovo region. The study used the analysis of information provided on the Internet, as well as materials of electronic media. In addition, a semi-structured interview method was used, during which representatives of the regional scientific community were interviewed, taking an active part in the public policy field of the region as experts.

The Myth of «Communication» in Modern Political Processes

The publication analyzes the causes and the logic of transition, which is observed in the mass consciousness of society and elites, from the ideas of «communication» of political subjects, as a means of solving their specific political problems, to the idea of it as the final practical result of modern politics. Effects of that transition for the dynamics of political processes at various levels are predicted.

The main emphasis is laid on the dependence of intensity of the political processes from the structure their spatial features: the relation of center and outlying area, the character of horizontal and vertical relations of subjects and so on.
