The Union State within the modern political discourse of Russia

The article is devoted to the analysis of the issues of integration interaction between Russia and Belarus through the lens of perception of the existence and functioning of the Union State by the power institutions and political parties of the Russian Federation. A study of the content of the official websites of state authorities, the information and analytical portal of the Union State and party programming was conducted on the example of pre-election documents of political parties admitted to participate in the elections to the State Duma of the eighth convocation.

International peacekeeping and the UN criminal justice: Political and legal correlation and similarity

The article identifies and reveals objective political and legal correlations between international peacekeeping activities and international criminal justice, which allows positioning the latter as the final phase of the UN peacekeeping practice. The need to take into account such correlation in domestic peacekeeping is substantiated on the basis of lobbying in the world for the perception of such practice of Russia from the angle of reconciliation of the conflicting parties; geopolitical obstacle to the implementation of any form of genocide; ensuring international peace and security.

Features of the foreign policy mechanism of the Russian Federation

The article considers the problem of the stages of evolution and the main trends in the functioning of the foreign policy mechanism of the Russian Federation. The degree of influence of specific elements of the mechanism of formation and implementation of Russian foreign policy from 1991 up to the present has been characterized. It was shown that in 2000-2008 certain changes took place in the system of the state foreign policy mechanism, which were due to the specifics of the leadership style of the incumbent President and his team.

Some issues of cooperation between Russia and China in the Arctic

The article is devoted to the consideration of the reasons and a number of areas of cooperation between Russia and China in the Arctic region. The importance of this region for Russia and China is analyzed. The advantages of the Arctic for the two countries in terms of territory, economy, and politics are revealed. The conclusion is made about the relationship between the COVID-19 pandemic and the exacerbation of the crisis of political and economic relations between China, Russia, and the United States.

Specifics of PR activities of Russian municipal bodies in the context of the spread of COVID-19

This article examines some features of PR activities of local governments during the self-isolation regime introduced in March 2020 in connection with the spread of coronavirus infection. Based on content analysis of messages posted on the official accounts of three administrations of Russian cities with millions of people (Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Voronezh) in the social network Instagram, the authors determine prior directions of PR activities of local governments in a crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

The separation of powers and constitutional evolution of the system of public administration in modern Russia

The constitutional evolution of the system of state administration in modern Russia is considered based on the theory of treaty state. The system-forming features of the permanent process of separation of powers are the constitutional and monopoly exclusivity of powers. Monopoly exclusivity ensures, on the one hand, the dynamic stability of political systems, and, on the other, generates a unique disproportion based on the independence and self-sufficiency of the branches of government.

Development of civil society in the Republic of Crimea after its reconnection with Russia

The processes of development of civil society in Crimea after the entry of the peninsula into the Russian Federation in March 2014 are analyzed. The authors conclude that in recent years it has developed and passed from inertia to a state of civic activity. However, an integral system of civil structures has not yet been formed.

Media education facets within writings of A. V. Fedorov’s scholarly group: Political dimension

Empirical base of this article is comprised of five monographs by A.V. Fedorov and his colleagues published from 2013 to 2015. The author highlights several, from his point of view, the most urgent and important issues touched on in the writings considered. An idea is substantiated that necessity to develop social and political model of media education is becoming patently obvious nowadays.

Perestroika in the USSR: Between the ideological concept and reality

The article presents the result of reflection on the contradictions between the ideological and theoretical substantiation of the concepts “acceleration” and “perestroika” and their real results, which became one of the most important reasons of collapse of the socialist system and the USSR.
