The double-nature of uncertainty and risk phenomena under cross-cultural communication

The article studies the phenomena of uncertainty and risk, namely their double-nature. It is shown that uncertainty and risk are inherent in people’s life cycles. Their importance grows at present due to the abundance of information and digitalization. Special attention is paid to the various points of view on this problem and its characteristics. Moreover, uncertainty is one of the cultural categories in terms of cultural types. In this respect uncertainty and risk acquire special importance in the course of cross cultural communication.

Spiritual Health of Dagestan Student Youth: Sociological Analysis of Risks and Threats

At presen, the study of risks and threats in youth spiritual health sphere is one of those social problems, the relevance of which simply cannot be questioned. A sociological study of the Russian society’s spiritual health is impossible without studying the spiritual health of youth as a special socio-demographic group. Student youth refers to that category of the population whose health (and spiritual health as well) is inextricably linked with the notion of «risk».

“Living Conditions” as a Factor of Ecological Responsibility Actualization

The article gives a brief description of the programs dedicated to the year of ecology in Russia. The results of the research of the Russian Society of Sociologists are presented. The comparative analysis of two studies: all-Russian and regional ones is carried out. The groups from each study were selected by their interest in environmental issues. The presence/absence of connection of ecological responsibility with living conditions and personal characteristics was analyzed.

The Internet as an Adaptive Resource for Older Users

The article deals with the peculiarities of the use of the Internet by the older age group of the Russian population. The indicators of participation in the Internet space in two groups: youth and pensioners are compared. This makes it possible to analyze the degree of “resource” of the Internet for the two “extreme” groups according to the age, to assess what opportunities Internet provides users and how they are used in different age groups. The resources of adaptation of elderly users and those who do not use the opportunities of the global network are identified.

Genesis of Risks in the Youth’s Environment: Sociological Analysis

In this article represented results of empiric research of risk in everyday life of Saratov youths. It was identified motives of risk preparation and detected factors, which affect on the risk`s attitude of respondents. It was such factors as respondent’s age, occupation and desire to risk and create riskful situation. It was allocated five groups of people: «hyper venturesome», «venturesome», «risky», «moderately risky» and «not risky». We showed features of every type of respondents and indicated their advantages and disadvantages.
