The article deals with the factors that destroy the social protection of labor in Russia and create social tension and antagonism between the government and the working people. Exploitation of employees is inevitable under any social order, regardless of who exploits them – the private owner or the state, but the main criterion of the socially-oriented state should be the protection of labor.

The article examines the state and specifics of the implementation of social policy by studying Saratov region. Social policy, aiming mainly at ensuring well-being and all-round development of individuals and society, as a whole, presents itself as one of the key activity directions of both the state administration and local governments. This policy is implemented by state-made decisions, social events and programs.

The world sociological science currently shows an increased interest in population ageing and elderly’s life, which is associated with an increased life expectancy. Population aging is one of the main problems for many countries of the world. In modern conditions, old age becomes almost the longest period of a person’s life and no longer fits into the familiar concept of «sunset years». However, the inadequacy of both the phenomenological material and the methodological approaches causes a low degree of development of gerontological issues.

В статье рассматривается одна из форм гибкого рынка труда – заемный труд по лизинговой схеме. Сопоставлены экономические причины этой формы и ее социальные последствия. Представлено отрицательное отношение профсоюзов к быстрому распространению заемного труда в России. Сделан вывод, что такое распространение разрушает систему социальной защиты наемных работников.
