On the issue of political image leader networkization: The results of an empirical analysis

The networkization of the modern fi eld of public policy is studied in the paper. With the help of the information society theory and the image-role construct concept, the content of the image of the regional leader - the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region G.S. Nikitin is analyzed in the research. A qualitative-quantitative type of content analysis was chosen as the main empirical method of research, and the information array of data was made up of news reports from the Website of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Government.

The specifics of empirical studies of digital socialization based on the materials of the Russian Internet Development Fund

The article presents the overview of the empirical research on digital socialization of children, adolescents and young adults on the Internet Development Foundation materials. The publication activities of the Foundation in terms of methodological and empirical interest to the individual in the information society are focused on the problems of ensuring the safety of young Internet users, protecting them from illegal and aggressive content.

Social and Communicative Practices of Interaction Between Institutions of Power and the Population in the Region: Social Factors and Current Trends

This article discusses the interaction of power institutions with citizens at the regional level. The definition of a region is given and described. The results of the study conducted in Saratov region are presented. The results obtained during the survey are analyzed and compared with the studies of other authors and statistical collections. These observations allow us to say that the current level of society’s informatization is not enough for the open model of the interaction between the power and the population.

Modern Information Technologies Boosting National Interests of Russia in the Sphere of International Relations

The main problem tackled in this research deals with information technologies as the instrument of boosting national interests of Russia. The author comes to the conclusion that the information society shows the other side and the subject deals with not only mutual interests in the name of world development, but modification of the international relations on the base of the modern information technologies.

The Transformation of Language Functions: Sociological Reflection

The article considers the language functions` evolution in correlationwith society development. Language functions are presented fromthe point of view of various theoretical methodological approaches:behavioral, structuralfunctional, discourse practices, symbolicinteractional, and social constructional. The special role of constructionlanguage function, as the most significant under information society,is pointed out. Some examples of this language function activity inestablishing national states are given.

Foreign Policy Infromation Support in Russia: Lack of Strategy

The article dwells on the problems, hindering successful accomplishing the mission of Russian Federation’s foreign affairs activity information support. The author undertakes step by step analysis of doctrinal papers as far as information coverage of Russian Federation foreign policy is concerned and arrives at the conclusion that as of now solution of these problems lacks strategic goalsetting and wholesome concept. And without that all image shaping efforts will remain sporadic and fruitless.

Evolution of Representations about the Information Society in Modern West Sociology

In the article features of evolution of the sociological approaches formed in the western sociology to the analysis of an information society are considered. Ideas and ideas of foreign and domestic sociologists, offering their own interpretations of the term information society were considered. The stages of the formation and development of the idea of the information society are revealed. At the first stage, the conceptual foundations of the information society as a special social reality are being formed (the 70s – the mid 90s of the XX century).

The Development of Modern Democracies in the Information Society

The article evaluates the likelihood scenarios of development of traditional representative democracy in the information society, thanks to the capabilities of modern information and communication technologies. It is noted that the transition to direct democracy mechanisms is the most unlikely scenario. It is only possible at the local level and directly related to the level of Informatization and development of information security systems. The most realistic at the present stage is the development towards the introduction of electronic deliberative mechanisms.

Public Sphere of Information Society: Development of the Electronic State

The author considers conceptualization of the public sphere in theories of information society in article. She offers the periodization of theories of information society and shows the influence of state reforming practice to the methodological maintenance of concrete stages. The author analyzes the juridization of information and communication technologies as a factor of development of the electronic state in the public sphere of information society and forwards definition of the electronic state

Political and Legal Factors of E-democracy in Russia

The article considers peculiarities of formation of e-democracy in Russia. The focus of attention is the state policy in this area: goals, objectives and mechanisms for its implementation. Its main result is the creation of technological and legal preconditions for implementation of electronic democracy mechanisms in political practice. The main disadvantage of its implementation, the author considers the lack of power structures and integrated approach to development of e-democracy, a simplified representation of it as only about new forms of political participation.
