Value of justice in the perception of modern youth

The article analyzes results of an online survey (N = 519) and focus group interviews (N = 36) of young people (aged between 14 and 35) living in the Saratov region. The author summarizes answers to an open question about the way respondents understand social justice. Key elements of justice are highlighted and ranked. The results obtained are compared with the ideological preferences of the respondents.

The youth’s ideas about the future of Russia: Provincial dimension

The article is devoted to the analysis of the image of political future of Russia, which is present in the mass consciousness of Russian youth and motivates its political participation. The materials for the analysis were obtained by means of a questionnaire. The main trends that are spread among respondents while constructing the image of the future of Russia indicate that the problem of the future, both their own and their country’s, is relevant for modern youth.

Value and ideological factor of formation of the image of Russia’s future among modern youth (Regional case)

 The article considers results of social survey on the problems of the image of the future in the views of young people, conducted in 2021 in the Saratov region. Based on the analysis of  the materials obtained, the importance of the value and ideological factor in the formation of various representations of the desired image of the political, social, and economic development of the country is revealed.

Activation of the historical memory resource in modern politics

The article contains analysis of the reasons why the resource of the historical memory of civil societies and power elites is beginning to be actively used in the modern foreign and domestic policy of many countries, including Russia. The article describes the positive consequences of such a construction of political motivations, as well as the risks associated with the weakening of the influence of ideologies on political processes.

Religious modernism and fundamentalism within the national model of political modernization

Being a social religious institution, the church influences the formation of basic national values and specific features of national culture. In the process of modernization, there is a process of politicization of religion through the interaction of religious and political institutions. Due to the difference in the dynamics of modernization transformations and the adaptation of religion to new historical conditions, religious and political institutions acquire unique forms of interaction.

The role of Turkey in the Syrian conflict: An analysis of the works of Russian scholars

The article is devoted to the analysis of thematic frames within the Russian scholarly publications on Turkey’s participation in the Syrian conflict. The author highlights the following thematic blocks: the historical nature of Syrian-Turkish relations, the “Kurdish factor” of Turkish policy in the Syrian conflict, Russian-Turkish relations, relations between Turkey and the United States. 

Hate speech and manipulation as peculiarities of the modern political communication

In the modern world the so-called hate speech is gaining ground. It is particularly used within the framework of the political communication. This process is accompanied by the strengthening of the manipulative influence upon the society and it can be seen as one of its manifestations. Hate speech may precede serious social upheavals and revolutions but it can also be used as a method of enslavement of man by the all-powerful state creating the illusory enemies. 

The communicative structure of network political leadership: Opportunities for empirical research

The phenomenon of the leadership in the network space is becoming the subject of modern Russian and foreign studies. At the same time, the phenomenon has not been determined. The article describes the communication structure of network leadership between the concepts of network leadership, blogger, and influencer, as well as the basis for the future empirical research.

“Sputnik V” and the information policy of the European media regarding the Russian means of combating the pandemic

he article analyzes the public political reactions of the leaders of the European Union and the leading political forces of various European states regarding the Russian “Sputnik V” vaccine. The position of key European states in relation to the Russian vaccine are considered. This study is based on open sources and does not provide a comprehensive or complete overview of the available estimates. It focuses mainly on the problems of information support of political decisions regarding Russian means of combating the coronavirus pandemic.

Russian models of interaction between state authorities and youth associations

Based on the analysis of the interaction of state authorities with youth associations in the 1990s–2000s, the authors conclude that engagement in such structures provides an opportunity to involve young people in social, economic, and political processes in the regions through project and regulatory activities. Expediency of activating such activities is justified, since it is in the process of such interaction that an active civil position of young people is formed.
